picture of silk wall hanging Margaret Agner has perfected the technique of painting on silk to become large wall hangings, elegant scarves, or even original art clothing. Her wall pieces vary from large silk hangings from rods, (the one pictured to the left is 36" X 45") to quilted and appliqued works that can be framed. Her series of flowers and butterflies or moths are spectacular to see and have been featured recently in a private show at the University of Georgia Botanical Gardens.
Montgomery and rug Bonnie Montgomery is a fiber artist and weaver who is greatly admired by other weavers. Often I've witnessed other weavers carefully inspecting her woven rag rugs or bags and shaking their head in disbelief. The intricate care she takes to sew every loose end in place and grant each rug a long life takes a lot of patience! Another skill involves loop weaving, which is an ancient and time consuming form of weaving that gives her a delicate texture (often in silk) with tiny beads on totem bags worn around your neck.
